As the title says, “Friends Games: The Final Movie” (original title トモダチゲーム 劇場版FINAL/ Tomodachi Gemu Gekijoban Final) is set to be the last movie in a trilogy. The starting point for the manga adaptation was the release of a mini series titled “Friends Game”, followed by the first movie “Friends Games: The Movie”. This Japanese horror movie is directed by Jiro Nagae.
When Yuichi Katakiri (Ryo Yoshizawa) was a child, his mother taught him that friends are more important than money. Now, as a high school student, Yuichi prioritizes friends over money. One day, Yuichi and his friends become involved in the “Friends Games” which carries large amounts of money. They have to play 3 instances of the game and survive each and every single one to successfully finish it.
As this story uses the same actors again, I think one has to definitely start with Part 1. Otherwise, it might be confusing, as I’m not sure how much the different parts depend on each other. I wouldn’t want to miss a detail, just because I haven’t seen a previous part. From just the trailer, it does look like your typical setup. High school kids? Check. Get abducted? Check. Have to play a dangerous game in order to survive? Check. But well, you never know, this might be really good.
The production committee of “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K” released another set of movie stills from the live-action adaptation. The first still shows Kokomi Teruhashi (Kanna Hashimoto) a self-proclaimed “perfect girl” who is adored by everyone, alongside Kusuo Saiki (Kento Yamazaki) who doesn’t care for her, as he can read her true thoughts.
The next still shows some of his ‘unusual’ classmates: Aren Kuboyasu (Kento Kaku), a former delinquent who tries to change his way but has a short temper. Riki Nendo, a student whose mind Saiki cannot read as he is too dumb, which makes him unpredictable. And Shun Kaito (Ryo Yoshizawa), who believes that the world is ruled by an evil organization called the ‘Dark Reunion’.
The last still shows Riki Nendo (Hirofumi Arai) hand out a painful experience to his class representative Kineshi Hairo (Hideyuki Kasahara).
The movie is an adaptation of the same-named gag manga, published by Shueisha since 2012 and adapted into an anime in 2016. It depicts the story of Kusuo Saiki who was born with different psychic abilities such as teleportation, telepathy, psychokinesis. He hides his powers and secretly uses them to use his high school hardships with less than ordinary classmates.
If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, here it is. Sadly, without subtitles:

Set in the fictional town of Morioh. A high schooler, Josuke Higashikata (Kento Yamazaki) called Jojo and his friends are thrust into a new world they never knew existed. He’s the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar. He possesses a Stand (super power) called ‘Crazy Diamond’. The power allows him to restore or fix broken objects or animals.having to face off against deadly Stand users whilst trying to uncover the mysteries of the mystical Arrow and how to stop its wielder.
I’ve never read the manga. Even though a lot of people recommended it to me. But from a non – fan view, it looks good.

I couldn’t find a lot about this. There is no trailer yet and it’s only known that it’s going to air sometime in August. The only ones casted so far are Yoon Hyun Min who previously starred in OCN’s “Tunnel” and An Woo Yeon who had roles in “Circle: Two Worlds Connected” and “Strong Woman Do Bong Soo”. But their character assignments haven’t been released yet.
As soon as there is more information, I’ll post an update.
